While running his private practice, Dr. Mackey also held the position of Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California. After twenty-two years, he gave up his practice and took the position of Medical Director at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton. Additionally, he joined the department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Irvine Medical School where he became a Clinical Professor. Dr. Mackey is a past President of the Orange County Society of Internal Medicine, the Orange County Medical Society and the Orange County Branch of the American Heart Association.
