Product Review
"Production quality is high. The classroom footage is well done, with teachers and students seemingly unaffected by the camera's presence. An excellent manual reviews and supplements the material covered in the video. An excellent introduction to the subject of ADHD in the classroom, and will be useful viewing for educators and concerned parents." --Video Rating Guide for Libraries
"The video's production values are top-notch, and it will be of immediate help to elementary teachers and teachers-to-be." --Wilson Library Bulletin
"Guilford Press is a source for excellent videos on attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, and other learning disabilities. Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disoder in the Classroom: Strategies for Teachers is filled with advice that's easily applied. Russell Barkley's approach to dealing with children wiht ADHD is based on a smart system of behavioral modification that involves frequent and consistent rewards for tasks completed. Fortunately, though, Barkley is rarely on camera; instead, real teachers in a third grade classroom are shown implementing the ideas." --Wilson Library Bulletin
".Provide(s) an inside view into the difficulties that children with ADD and their teachers face in the classroom.Barkley's video presents basic information about ADD and demonstrates a variety of behavioral interventions. The tape is designed to be integrated into a presentation on ADD and the classroom, and is broken into different segments which allow for natural breaks in a presentation. Basic ideas are listed at various intervals, and Barkley speaks clearly and slowly, making it possible to take notes easily while viewing. The manual provides a comprehensive and concise discussion of ADD." --Child Therapy News
"The frequent classroom vignettes keep the production livelythere is a great deal of informationBarkley suggests that the production be used in segments interspersed with discussion. The program has a professional appearance in all aspects. This production, especially when used with the extensive manual, would be excellent for inservice or preservice teachers" --School Library Journal
"Helps teachers to better understand ADHD, and equips them to meet the difficult challenge of creating an educational environment that addresses the needs of the ADHD child without neglecting the other students." --School Library Journal
